ATTN: Relocation Program Manager
Bldg. 220, Douglas Blvd
Okinawa City Japan 96368-5134
A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
The Loan Closet has a variety of household items available for a 30-day loan. Items include dishes, silverware, cookware, small appliances (microwaves, toasters, irons, ironing boards, coffee pots and slow cookers.) These items may be of great need for individuals whose household goods have not arrived or have just been packed to depart. We do not provide bed linens, towels, or furniture and we do not accept donated items. Loan Closet items are also available at the following bases on the island – Camp Courtney, Camp Foster, Camp Hansen, Camp Kinser and Torii Station.
The Loan Closet facility is located in Building 220. You must bring a copy of your permanent change of station orders within 60 days of arrival to check out items or the sponsor must have a copy of the member's orders they are sponsoring. Items can also be checked out for those who are PCSing from the island. The organization’s hours of operation are Monday through Friday form 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call the Kadena Airman and Family Readiness Center at DSN 315-634-3366.
