A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
The Loan Locker has a variety of household items available for a 30-day loan. Items include dishes, silverware, cookware and small appliances like microwaves, toasters, air fryers and coffee makers. These items may be of great need for individuals whose household goods have not arrived or have just been packed to depart.
We do not provide bed linens, towels or furniture and we do not accept donated items. Items are first come, first serve. We do not do reservations. Please stop by the Military and Family Readiness Center with a copy of orders to get started. Individuals must be stationed at Kadena or living on Kadena to utilize the Kadena Loan Locker.

The Loan Locker facility is located in Building 220. You must bring a copy of your permanent change of station orders within 60 days of arrival or departure to check out items or the sponsor must have a copy of the service member's orders they are sponsoring in. This service is available for both permanent change of station moves in and out. You must reside on Kadena Air Base or work on Kadena AB to utilize the Loan Locker. The Loan Locker is first come, first serve. We do not do reservations. For further details, individuals can contact the Kadena Military and Family Readiness Center at DSN 315-634-3366.
The Military and Family Readiness Center is closed on Tuesdays from noon to 4 p.m.
