Cultural Awareness
Moving to Japan can offer you a great opportunity to learn about the local culture, history and traditions. With a greater understanding of how to adapt to life in Japan, you may discover new and exciting ways to make your life and your tour richer. The Kadena Airman and Family Readiness Center offers a variety of cultural classes such as Japanese language classes, Immigrant VISA information, local grocery shopping tour, Okinawan instrument lessons all for free. In addition, the Kadena A&FRC also offers monthly Japanese spouses workshop where Japanese spouses can learn about different American customs and practices and learn about the military way of life. Please stop by the A&FRC, Building 220 or call 315-634-3366 for more information or to register for one of these classes.
Exceptional Family Member Program
Exceptional Family Member Program identifies service members with special medical or education needs and helps them receive the services they need. For referral assistance, please call DSN 315-634-3366 and ask for the EFMP Coordinator.
Casualty & Survivor Benefits Plan
Located in building 106, Rm 5. The casualty & SBP program’s primary goals are to give prompt, accurate reporting as well as dignified and humane notification and efficient, thorough and compassionate assistance to the next of kin.
