Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
Marine Corps Family Team Building
The Marine Corps Family Team-Building Program enhances unit readiness by providing educational programs to deploying and returning troops in an effort to build readiness in military families. This includes support to Individual Augmentees and their dependents. Call 760-577-6675 if you have questions regarding deployment issues. They can also refer you to the unit readiness coordinator.
Lifestyles, Insight, Networking, Knowledge and Skills
L.I.N.K.S. is MCFTB's foundational program, providing an orientation to the military lifestyle including deployment and separation. Deployment is discussed in all L.I.N.K.S. classes, including L.I.N.K.S. for Marines, L.I.N.K.S. for Spouses, L.I.N.K.S. for Parents, L.I.N.K.S. for Kids, and L.I.N.K.S. for Teens. L.I.N.K.S. is a volunteer team-mentoring program, designed by spouses for spouses.
While L.I.N.K.S. is open to every branch spouse, its curriculum focuses on the Marine Corps community. L.I.N.K.S. is a program working in partnership with volunteer spouses, MCFTB staff and chaplains.
Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program
This workshop is for you. Whether engaged, newlyweds or married 30 years, you will learn strategies that will help you build and/or enhance a wonderful relationship. Come laugh and learn as we share the tremendous joy of connecting. For everyone wanting to be understood, the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program is a simple, yet effective, tool to bring insight and closeness to your relationship. Your marriage or relationship can be an oasis of acceptance and appreciation.
