If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
The American Red Cross can assist in times of emergency by providing quick communications with home about family emergencies including verification of death or serious illness of immediate family, birth announcements to fathers deployed overseas, and health and welfare reports resulting from a lack of communication over a long period of time. The American Red Cross offers financial assistance for military personnel and their immediate families in the form of interest-free loans or grants when a loan would place a greater hardship on the family.
