Child Care

The CDC offers full day care for children 6 weeks to 5 years old. Staff work in partnership with parents to meet each individual child’s needs in a safe, healthy and nurturing environment. Child Development Center (CDC)

The CDC is located in Building 4706, 361-516-6176. Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. – 6 p.m. Closed all Federal holidays.

The Child Development Center provides outstanding care for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age.  Its primary goal is to ensure that children in our care are offered every opportunity to flourish in a safe and caring atmosphere that offers an abundance of learning activities.  The CDC provides an environment that nurtures and challenges the growth and development of each child.  Developmentally appropriate activities and experiences are offered to meet the needs of each child. Families eligible to participate in the program are military dependents, DoD civilians, and contractors onboard NAS Kingsville.  All meals and snacks are prepared in accordance with USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines.  Full-time and hourly care is available to meet the varying needs of our parents and children.  The CDC is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

School Liaison (SL)

The School Liaison’s Office is located in the Fleet and Family Support Center, Building 4724, Suite 126, 361-516-6073. Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Closed all Federal holidays.

The SL serves as the installation expert for issues and processes involving Local Education Agencies, on all K-12 educational matters relating to public, private, home-schooling and DoDEA schools.  The SL will manage, coordinate and facilitate education support to maximize the opportunity for academic success of military associated children.

Fees are based on Total Family Income. Your income will be assessed upon registration and will fall into one of 14 income categories. Fees for full time care are due on the 1st and 15th of each month. Hourly care is $8.00 per hour and due at the time of pick-up.

The CYP Clerk will contact you within 48 hours to discuss your child-care needs and date of availability. Please contact the NAS Kingsville CDC by calling 361-516-6176 with any questions or concerns.

Special Needs

If your child has a Special Need or belongs to the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) contact us to set up a time to discuss your child-care needs and to set up an Inclusion Action Team (IAT) Meeting. Currently most Special Needs cases are based on food related allergies (i.e. lactose intolerance, fruit allergies, etc.). Proper menu substitutions usually rectify the situation.
