Legal assistance is available to you and your family. Below, you’ll find information about claims and installation specific programs and services. If you have questions, reach out to the legal assistance program at your installation.
Region Legal Services Office Mid-Atlantic (RLSO MIDLANT) is a customer service organization that supports fleet operational readiness by providing high-quality legal services to commands and authorized personnel including Sailors and their families.
Legal assistance can include advice on topics such as consumer/financial affairs, disaster relief support, family law, foreclosure advice, counseling, immigration, notary services, powers of attorney, landlord/tenant matters, Servicemembers' Civil Relief Act, small claims court matters, victim assistance, and wills/estate planning. Pre-deployment services are given priority.

Requests for Wills
For the will worksheet, go to https://www.jag.navy.mil/legal-services/mid-atlantic/.
Click on the will worksheet on the side column. Under forms, you will see a link to our standard will worksheet. Each client needing a will should print the worksheet, complete it and bring it to the office. If you are unavailable for a Monday or Wednesday walk-in appointment, email your forms to rlsomidlantla@us.navy.mil. Priority is given to active-duty service members who are deploying within two weeks.
Family Law
A family law brief covering divorce, child custody and child visitation is offered on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:30 a.m. To attend the brief, please arrive to the office no later than 8:30 a.m. on Monday or Wednesday.
Notary/Power of Attorney
Available Monday through Thursday at 7:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. To receive services, you must present your CAC and a state ID, driver's license or passport.

Email us at rlsomidlantla@us.navy.mil to request an appointment. Be sure to include your name and a detailed description of what services you are seeking from us. To expedite your request, visit https://www.jag.navy.mil/legal-services/mid-atlantic/, fill out the Client Intake Form and send a filled-out version of your request to rlsomidlantla@us.navy.mil via DoD SAFE or encrypted email.
**Active-duty personnel must be in uniform of the day to receive services. Active-duty personnel on leave must present leave papers if not in uniform.**
**Children (unless the child is the client or approved by exception in emergency cases), pets (unless service animals) and weapons (e.g., knives) are not permitted in attorney spaces**
