Military and Family Support Center

Military and Family Support Centers provide information, education and support programs to help balance the demands of military life. Offerings include:

• Deployment support to assist you and your family during all phases of the deployment cycle. Learn more about deployment support.

• Confidential non-medical clinical counseling provides support for a wide range of issues from marital conflicts and stress management to coping with grief and deployment adjustments Learn more about confidential non-medical counseling.
• Personal and family life education assists with developing knowledge and skills to help you navigate your mobile military life.
• Personal financial readiness assists you and your family in building and maintaining your financial readiness.
• Employment assistance supports career exploration, education, training and licensing, career connections and employment readiness for military spouses, transitioning service members, and other family members. Learn more about the Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO.
• Information and referral can assist you in identifying and clarifying needs and locating and connecting to services and programs available both on and off your installation.
• Morale, Welfare and Recreation, or MWR services provide lots of ways for you to connect with friends and others for entertainment, rest and relaxation — all at reduced or no cost. Learn more about MWR programs and services.

Naval Station Norfolk’s Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) is located at 7928 14th St., Suite 102 Norfolk, VA 23505-1219 and can be reached by phone at 757-444-2102 or DSN 312-564-2102.

FFSC Norfolk offers the following additional services:

• Counseling and support programs: In addition to individual and marital counseling, FFSC provides clinical support groups and classes as well as short-term counseling and crisis intervention for active-duty individuals and their family members.
• Family Advocacy Program: NF&FSC’s Family Advocacy Program counselors provide family violence prevention and identification educational workshops for commands. FFSC offers a variety of educational workshops designed to strengthen families by increasing their skills to cope with family challenges and interpersonal relationships. Located in Building U111, the program can be reached at 757-444-2230.
• Volunteer Program: This series provides opportunities within FFSC for individuals to give responsive, proactive and customer-oriented services to our military members and their families.
• Sexual Assault Prevention and Response: Victim advocate resource information and counseling referrals for victims are available in the FFSC’s Sexual Assault and Prevention Response program. SAPR provides command support with advocate and point-of-contact training as well as the SAPR advocates forum. SAPR is housed at FFSC and can be reached at 757-444-2230. • Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate Program: Victims of domestic abuse have a number of resources available to them with the Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate Program including assessment, evaluation, information, education, limited transportation and case coordination. DAVA is located at NF&FSC and can be reached at 757-444-2102. For after-hours assistance from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m., the program can be reached at 757-438-4180, or by calling the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE or 800-799-7233.
• Exceptional Family Member Program: Liaisons, resources and application counseling as well as command point of contact training and informational briefs are available through the Exceptional Family Member Program. EFMP liaisons can be reached at 757-444-2102 or 757-953-7805.
• New Parent Support Home Visitation Program: For new parents, the New Parent Support Home Visitation Program provides information, instruction and resources to expecting families and those with children up to 3 years of age. New parent support staff are located at Building U111 and can be reached by calling 757-444-2320 as well as the Sewells Point Branch Medical Clinic on NSN at 757-953-8791.
