The Military and Family Support Center is one part of a larger network of agencies, programs, services, partnerships and individuals that supports your personal and family readiness. The larger system called the Military Family Readiness System is a web of support for you and your family. The Military and Family Support Center should be one of your first stops once you arrive at a new installation. The programs and services they offer are a key resource for you and your family.

FFSC Norfolk provides a wide range of programs and services designed to enhance military readiness, support personal and family well-being, and improve quality of life for Sailors and their families.
Work and Family Life ProgramsFFSC's Work and Family Life Program offers education, training, counseling, and consultation services to help sailors and families successfully navigate military life. Services include resilience building, parenting education, deployment support, return and reunion programs, relocation assistance, family employment readiness, personal financial management, information and referral services, Ombudsman support, emergency preparedness and transition assistance. WFL programs help individuals and families prepare for deployments, PCS moves, major life events and career transitions.
Counseling and Support ServicesFFSC provides short-term, solution-focused counseling, crisis intervention, support groups, workshops and educational programs for active-duty service members and their families. Services are designed to strengthen resilience, improve communication and support overall well-being.
Family Advocacy ProgramThe Family Advocacy Program promotes healthy relationships and family resilience through prevention, education, intervention and support services. FAP offers educational workshops, command training and resources focused on preventing domestic abuse and strengthening family relationships. Located in Building U111, FAP can be reached at 757-444-2230.
Sexual Assault Prevention and ResponseThe SAPR Program provides advocacy, referrals, resources, and support for victims of sexual assault. SAPR also supports commands through victim advocate training, command consultation and prevention education. The SAPR Office can be reached at 757-444-2230. Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate ProgramThe DAVA Program provides support, information, education, safety planning, limited transportation assistance and case coordination services for victims of domestic abuse. DAVA staff can be reached at 757-444-2102. For after-hours assistance (4:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), call 757-438-4180. Additional support is available through the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-SAFE (7233).
Exceptional Family Member ProgramEFMP provides assistance to military families with special medical or educational needs through liaison services, enrollment support, resource referrals, command training and informational briefings. EFMP staff can be reached at 757-444-2102 or 757-953-7805.
New Parent Support ProgramThe New Parent Support Home Visitation Program provides education, resources and support to expecting parents and families with children from birth through age four. Services focus on child development, parenting skills and family wellness. NPSP staff are located in Building U111 and can be reached at 757-444-2320 or at the Sewells Point Branch Medical Clinic at 757-953-8791.
