Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Child and Youth Programs provide Child Development and recreational services for children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. The Child Development Center provides full day and hourly drop in care for children 6 weeks to 5 years. The School Age Center provides before and after school care for children ages 5-12. Call the Child Development Center at 732-866-2518, or the School Age Care Office at 732-866-2148.
The CDC program is led by qualified professionals in Early Childhood Education, whose major goal is to promote your child’s growth and development in a nurturing environment through meaningful learning experiences. The curriculum is developmentally appropriate, keeping in mind the specific needs of each individual child. Activities are planned, however these plans are flexible depending on the daily interests and needs of the children. Children are invited and encouraged to participate in individual and group activities designed to promote social, emotional, intellectual (cognitive) and physical development.
The NWS Earle Child Development Center (CDC) is certified by the DoD and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. NWS Earle CDC is located in Building C-60, adjacent to the Stark Road and Laurelwood housing areas, and can be reached at 732-866-2518 or DSN 312-449-2518.
Hours of Operation
The CDC is open Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. - 6 p.m. Closed on Federal Holidays.
Eligibility
Children of military personnel, DoD civilian personnel, reservists on active duty or inactive duty for training and DoD Contractors are eligible for care. Priority Placement is for dual military and single military families.
Programs Offered
The CDC offers full time spaces for children 6 weeks through 5 years of age. Hourly care is available when space allows. The CDC uses The Creative Curriculum for all programs at the center. Programs include Preschool, Toddler, Pre-Toddler & Infant classrooms.
The CDC will make effort to accommodate children with special needs. Children with special needs include children with life threatening or chronic medical /physical conditions; children with mental health conditions; children with a diagnosis of asthma, a diagnosis of attention deficit disorder/attention deficit hyperactivity disorder; children requiring adaptive equipment and children requiring special diets. Prior to admission, the statement of a physician or other specialist, licensed or certified, in the area of the child’s disability must be submitted. Contact the CDC for more information about requirements for Special Needs Children. At the present time there is a minimal wait list.
Costs
Fees are based on total family income. There are no registration fees. Drop-ins/hourly care are on a space available basis and at at rate of $3 per hour.

The School Age Care Program (SAC) provides a safe, supervised, healthy and age-appropriate environment for children grades K-6, ages 5-12. SAC offers children an opportunity to engage in a variety of activities to promote the psychological, social and physical well being of each child. Activities include but are not limited to photography (ImageMakers), indoor/outdoor play, arts and crafts, science, computer lab, homework time (Power Hour).
The program is an affiliate of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and offers programs in the five core areas of character and leadership, education and career, health and life skills, the arts and sports and fitness and recreation.The SAC office is located in Building C-62 and can be reached at 732-866-2148 or DSN 312-449-2148.
