When planning for a move with the military, you might consider moving into government housing. Government housing is owned and maintained by the Department of Defense and is typically on the installation. Eligibility and availability for this type of housing may vary by service member, family size and installation. Learn more about the different options, benefits and discounts that may be available to you through government housing.
Eligibility
Active-duty military personnel accompanied by dependents and attached for duty to Naval Weapons Station Earle or a military command located within a one hour commuting distance of the housing complex are eligible for Military Family Housing provided they have at least six months from the date they occupy government quarters to the end of their tour of duty in this area.
Availability
Navy Family Housing at Naval Weapons Station Earle consists of 79 family housing units.
Single sailors, geographical bachelors and Department of Defense civilians are permitted to reside in Balfour Beatty Communities Housing.
Waiting periods vary for each area of housing and is dependent on pay grade and bedroom entitlement. Further information on pay grade eligibility, waiting periods and bedroom entitlements can be obtained by contacting the Family Housing Service Center.
Privatization

Application
Applications for family housing must be made by Directives Division Form 1746 and submitted to the Family Housing Service Center with a copy of PCS orders and a current copy of Record of Emergency Data. The control date (eligible date for assignment to quarters) for the housing waiting list will be the date of detachment from the previous command if the application is submitted within 30 days of the reporting date at Naval Weapons Station Earle. If an application is not made within this time frame, the date of receipt of application by the Housing Office will be the control date.
Pet Policy
A maximum of two pets per home are allowed. Fish tanks and bird cages count as one pet. The following breeds are permitted only with proof of personal liability insurance in the amount of $100,000:
PIT BULLS or any breed that are most commonly referred to as pit bulls such as, but not limited to American Staffordshire terrier, American bulldog and American pit bull terrier ARE NOT PERMITTED. Exotic pets are not permitted.

Barracks space is limited. There are 24 rooms available for single personnel permanently assigned to Naval Weapons Station Earle or tenant commands, pay grade E1 to E4.
