It’s likely that employment will change when a move occurs, especially for military spouses. The information below will provide you with employment assistance information and resources available such as SECO, MyCAA and MSEP Portals.
When you arrive at Nellis Air Force Base, family members may contact the Military and Family Readiness Center for employment assistance.
Our center is charged with supporting service members, recovering service members, military spouses, dependent children, retired members and Department of Defense civilians with achieving short and long-term employment, education / training and career goals.
The following services are available: career / skills assessment, resume review, data on area employers, job announcements, internet access, Nevada Career Information System, resource library and individual counseling.
We offer the following workshops and / or services:
Civilian Job Search and Resume Writing, Federal Employment, Interviewing Skills, LinkedIn Workshop, Spouse Employment as well as Hiring Fairs.
Be sure to hand-carry all employment records and documents, resumes, Standard Form 50, latest performance appraisal, transcripts, certificates and licenses.
For spouses who currently possess a professional license, please contact the M&FRC to discuss potential licensure reimbursement (up to $1,000) to transfer your current license to Nevada.
Our largest employers are in the gaming industry (hotels/casinos). Second largest area of employment is in retail sales. Clark County School District is a large employer also.

If you are considering applying for unemployment benefits, contact your losing state's unemployment benefits representative for the appropriate paperwork. When you resign your position, include a statement to the effect that you are resigning to accompany your military spouse on his/her PCS.
