When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
In Processing
Upon arrival, all service members need to report to their unit Commander’s Support Staff (CSS), as soon as possible. If you arrive after normal duty hours, ensure you have your sponsor's contact information for assistance in case needed. Your unit CSS will provide an in-processing checklist.
Newcomer OrientationThe base-level Newcomer Orientation is mandatory for all personnel in-processing to Offutt AFB. This 4-and-a-half hour briefing is designed as a one-stop orientation that covers all required newcomer briefings except the Finance and MPF briefings. Spouses are highly encouraged to register to attend.Registration is required for Newcomer Orientation. For dates, times, and location of the next event, or to register, call the Military and Family Readiness Center at 402-294-4329.First Term Enlisted CourseFor Enlisted members, if Offutt AFB is your first duty station, you must attend the First Term Enlisted Course (FTEC) as soon as possible, but no later than 45 calendar days after arriving on station. Your unit CSS will be able to provide more information about registration.
This five-day course is designed to reinforce lessons learned in Basic Military Training and technical training to prepare service members for their role in supporting the organization’s mission along with developing a warrior ethos and expeditionary mindset. FTEC is separate from the base-level Newcomer Orientation.

Frequently the number of personnel making PCS moves can exceed the number of TLFs available, be sure to make reservations well ahead of your arrival, especially during the peak PCS months of May through October.
Reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance and prior to receiving PCS orders.
Reservations must be reconfirmed three days prior to your arrival and will be canceled at 6 p.m. on the check-in date unless guaranteed with a credit card. Reservations: 402-281-1292

Limited Pet Friendly Temporary LodgingThere are four family units designated for pets through Offutt Air Force Inns, and they are in very high demand. Be prepared to make reservations at area kennels for your pets.

Need a Visitor(s) Pass?Sponsor and visitor(s) may report in-person to the Visitor Control Center (VCC) 478 Butler Blvd, adjacent to the USSTRATCOM Gate.VCC Hours: Mon-Fri, 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. Closed on all Federal Holidays & ACC/55th Wing Family Days.
If you get married while en route during your PCS to Offutt Air Force Base, call the Military Personnel Flight (MPF) at 402-294-2374 as soon as possible to communicate you were married en route and for how to proceed.
Requirements are determined on a case-by-case basis and MPF's thorough understanding of applicable governing directive(s) will support you through the process based on your specific needs. Follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. The military will not pay travel and housing expenses for your spouse if you do not follow the proper procedures.
