If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Base Education Office offers counseling, tuition assistance, and SkillBridge information for all active duty members stationed at Offutt. Tuition assistance is available for active duty only.For more information on the GED and English as a Second Language classes, please call Metropolitan Community College at 531-622-4060.
Members of the Offutt community have access to educational institutions through the Offutt AFB Education and Training Office. The Education and Training section administers testing services for Airmen enrolled in the non-resident Professional Military Education programs , Career Development Courses, Promotion Testing, non-linguist language testing (DLPT, DLAB), specialized testing (AFOQT, AFCT, etc.), and CLEP/DSST tests offered through our on-base DANTES National Test Center. The Education and Training Section also provides academic and vocational counseling, information on funding education (GI Bill and other sources) for military personnel, family members, DOD civilians, retirees, and other beneficiaries.
