Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. The Offutt AFB Child Development Centers (CDC) have a wide range of services is available in priority order to dependents of active duty military members, DoD civilian personnel (APF or NAF), reservists on duty, and DoD contractors. Full-time and hourly care is available to meet your specific needs. The Offutt Enrichment Program (preschool), is also a service that the Offutt Child Development Center provides. Expanded services are offered, providing care for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Hourly care for children 12 months to 10 years of age is available but reservations are required and space is limited. Family Child Care Program
Family Child Care (FCC) manages the care of children in affiliated on-base and off-base homes. The FCC program certifies applicants who wish to operate a home child care facility under base jurisdiction and provides ongoing support & resources to providers. Offutt’s Family Child Care Providers are well-trained professionals who provide quality child care for children from 2 weeks to 12 years of age. Care is available 24 hours a day. They aim to accommodate parents who work swing shifts, mid shifts, rotating shifts, alerts, extended TDYs, weekends, extended duty, or who have children requiring specialized care.
Child Care for PCS
This program is intended to help relieve some of the stress inherently associated with the PCS move process. AFAS will pay for 20 hours of child care (per child) in Air Force certified Family Child Care homes. Air Force families with PCS orders are eligible for this service. To utilize the program, please bring a copy of your PCS orders to the Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) to receive a certificate for 20 hours of free child care for each of your children, to be used during the first 60 days you are on station. This is an Air Force Aid Society outreach program for Air Force active duty only, and all ranks are eligible.
The Youth Center offers a before and after school activities program for 130-135 children, ages 5-12. The program includes transportation to and from nine elementary schools in the local area. Immunizations must be current. Register at MilitaryChildCare.com
The Early Childhood Center is an educational center intended for children birth to eight years old and their parents. The center is open to families that reside in the Bellevue Public Schools attendance area or active duty military families. Parents have the opportunity to check out toys and/ resources to take home with them. The parents must accompany their children while participating in the center's activities.
