Licensure Reimbursement
Military spouses with existing licensure can receive up to $1,000 in reimbursement when moving to Nebraska. You will need a copy of PCS/PCA orders, your previous state occupational license or certification, and a receipt showing Nebraska’s re-licensure fees for the same profession. Reimbursement will be issued through Finance.For more information and to view your states reciprocity with Nebraska check out the Department of Labor’s interstate licensure compacts.
When searching for your next career, be sure to keep both hard and virtual copies of all employment records and documents, resumes, transcripts, certificates, and licenses. The Military & Family Readiness Center can provide resume classes and resume reviews upon request.
In accordance with NDAA FY19 all members within 18 to 24 months of their projected date of separation/retirement (DOS/R) must begin their TAP process, regardless of intent to continue military service or not. The first two mandatory components of TAP, Initial Counseling and Pre-Separation, must be completed no later than 365 days prior to projected DOS/R. The remaining two mandatory components, the TAP workshops and Capstone, can be completed within the 365 days prior to the DOS/R and are not required unless the member intends to separate or retire. To begin the TAP process email your DoDID# and DOS/R to 55FSS.FSFR.TransitionProgram@us.af.mil.
My Career Advancement Account
The My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) Scholarship provides financial assistance to eligible military spouses for licenses, certifications, or associate's degrees needed to pursue employment or maintain credentials in a specific occupation or career field, including continuing education.
