Telephone Access
Defense Service Network Dialing Instructions
The DSN is the provider of long-distance communications service for the Department of Defense. Every installation has a special DSN number and the numbers vary by world-wide location. In order to place a call using DSN, the caller must be using a military phone on an installation. Cell phones cannot dial DSN numbers. When dialing a DSN number from a United States installation to another United States installation, it is unnecessary to dial the DSN 312 area code. When dialing a DSN number to/from overseas locations, the DSN area code must be included. The operator can be reached at commercial 478-926-1110. Please note that long distance charges may be incurred.
When placing calls on base to other on-base phones, use DSN prefix and the number (472-XXXX, 497-XXXX, 468-XXXX and 241-XXXX).
All commercial telephone numbers on Robins AFB have 222, 926, 327, or 201 prefixes. When calling onto the base from an off-base phone, dial the area code then desired prefix, then the four-digit number. The area code is 478. To call from one on-base phone to the other, callers must dial a seven-digit number using the DSN prefix. For example, commercial numbers starting with 926 will be reached by dialing 468 and then the last four. DSN prefixes are as follows: DSN 241 = 201 commercial, DSN 468 = 926 commercial, DSN 472 = 222 commercial, and DSN 497 = 327 commercial.
Your sponsor should arrange to meet you upon arrival. If not, contact your unit Command Support Staff (CSS) or First Sergeant immediately upon arrival.
Your sponsor will be instrumental in assisting with your arrangements, answering your questions and meeting your PCS needs.
