Contact information for key programs and services at this installation.
When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
Soldiers and their Family Members flying Patriot Express into Germany will arrive at the Ramstein Gateway Reception Center.
Soldiers will be processed at the Reception Center. Soldiers and their family members will be transported by Sponsorship Bus (S-Bus) to Grafenwoehr or Hohenfels. Soldiers assigned to Vilseck or Garmisch will depart the bus in Grafenwoehr.
A team from the USAG Bavaria Welcome and Reception Center will meet the S-Bus upon arrival to the installation. After receiving a Welcome Packet and a short in-brief at the in-processing center, Soldiers and their family members will be released to unit sponsors, who will take them to their house/barracks.
If your sponsor is unavailable, a unit representative will meet you at the United States Army Garrison Bavaria Welcome and Reception Center.
USAG Bavaria operates on a seven day in-processing schedule, with slight variations for those Soldiers assigned to Hohenfels and Garmisch. You will receive your day one in-processing instructions from the Welcome and Reception Center team during the in-brief upon arrival.
It is the unit’s responsibility to meet and transport Soldiers, and their family members, arriving via commercial air. Those Soldiers need to report to the MPD the following duty day to receive in-processing instructions. For Soldiers assigned to Grafenwoehr/Vilseck, report to the MPD customer service desk (second floor, BLDG 244, Tower Barracks). For Soldiers assigned to Hohenfels, report to the MPD in BLDG 10. For Soldiers assigned to Garmisch, report to the MPD in BLDG 203.
Army Community Service offers a variety of Newcomer Orientations for Spouses and Civilians. These orientations offer cultural adaptation information, basic German language skills and introduction to local customs, foods, public transportation and much more. Contact ACS to sign up. Space is limited.
