Youth Programs/Center - Central Registration – Rose Barracks

Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Please contact the Child and Youth Program point of contact at this installation if you require information, assistance or resources for child care in your local community.
Families who will be moving into the community can expect a 0-1 month wait for childcare. Before leaving your current duty station, families (especially Single and Dual Military) are encouraged to notify Central Registration to place their children on the Protected Waiting List. Upon arrival in Germany, families on the waiting list will be given first priority to place children into programs. The community has a Child Development Center and some Family Child Care homes. Child Care Options Available: Full-time child care, Part-day Preschool and toddler (two day, three day, or four-day program), hourly care (may be used to 25 hours per week).
Centers on Installation
Three Child Development Centers (CDCs) with DOD certification are available within USAG Bavaria Hub. They are located at Rose Barracks (RB) Vilseck, Tower Barracks (TB) Grafenwoehr and the newest at the Netzaberg housing area. RB-CDC and N-CDC are open from 5:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and TB-CDC is temporarily closed.
Children ages 6 weeks through Kindergarten may be enrolled in following programs: Full Day, hourly Care, Part Day Pre-School (PDPS),Part Time, Strong Beginnings (for children who missed the cutoff date for Kindergarten), Before and After Kindergarten.

There are eight German Kindergartens in the area and spaces are very limited.
All children and youth are required to be registered before using any Child Youth and School Services (CYSS) program. The Parent Central Services Office located at Rose Barracks assists all in processing families and families assigned to the USAG Bavaria Grafenwoehr Military Community. Families who will be living at Rose Barrack, Tower Barracks (Grafenwoehr) and Netzaberg may register at the CYSS Parent Central Services office.

Costs -- Child care fees are based on Total Family Income and are figured on a sliding scale.
Child Youth Service Programs are based on Total Family Income. Before and after school programs are available, as are hourly care and a Summer Camp program.
There are two School Age Services and Youth Centers with DOD certification located within the USAG Bavaria Military Community. The School Age Services for ages 1st -6th Grade at the Netzaberg housing area and at Rose Barracks offer Before and After School, Hourly Care, Technology & Homework Lab and Summer Camp.
The Youth Center for ages 6th - 12 Grade are available at Netzaberg and Rose Barracks. Hours of Operation are Monday - Thursday from 3:00 - 7:00 pm, Friday 3:00 - 9:00 pm and Saturday 2:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Children Age 11 - 12 years have the option to participate in School-age Services (SAS).
Child, Youth and School Services offer sports programs to youth ages 3-18. Seasonal sports include Baseball, Softball, T-ball, Soccer, Football, Cheerleading, and Basketball. CYSS sports also offer various summer clinics. In order to register for a sport, all players must have a current CYSS Registration and Sports Physical, CYSS sports is dependent on community volunteers. All volunteers must fill out a coach's application as well as a background check. To sign-up for CYS sports or to become a coach, contact Parent Central Services.
SKIES Unlimited instructional programming offers classes in non-competitive activities. Various programs in martial arts, dance, gymnastics, music and sports are among the activities that children and youth may sign up for. Fees vary with individual classes.
To participate in any CYSS activity, two emergency designees, and immunization records, and a Health Assessment (due 30 days from registration) must be completed at Parent Central Services before participation begins. Participation in any CYSS sports or SKIES Unlimited non-competitive sports program requires a current Sports Physical at time of registration.
