Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. The USAG Benelux Child Development Center on SHAPE welcomes international members. The CDC staff consists of professional personnel and provides full-day/part day/hourly care for infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children.
The SHAPE Child Development Center received NAEYC Accreditation. The CDC provides a safe and healthy environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The program focuses on the social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of each child. Breakfast, lunch and/or snacks are provided.
Hours of Operation
The center is open from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. The center is closed on Belgian Legal Holidays.
Programs Offered
In addition to full day care, the CDC also offers hourly care, part-time, and part-day. Hourly care is offered on a space available basis. Reservations can be made in advance, or on a drop-in basis.
Costs
Fees follow the current DOD fee schedule and are based on Total Family Income.
Eligibility, Availability and Registration
All children, 6 weeks to 5 years of age, of eligible sponsors located in the SHAPE/Chievres Community are eligible to use services. For any questions, please contact Parent Central Services. Parent Central Services is your one-stop information and registration place. The office can answer all eligibility, availability, registration and wait list questions. Personnel scheduled to arrive can add their child(ren) to the wait list before their arrival date via MCC.com.
Unborn children may be placed on the wait list prior to the baby's due date via MCC.com. For any questions regarding services offered/wait list, please contact Parent Central Services or visit Chievres Family and MWR website.
