A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
KMC Youth Centers offer many programs especially for teens. These include sponsorship, teen councils, computer labs, fashion shows, dances and other special events. Middle School and Youth Center
The Landstuhl Youth Center is located in building 93812. It is equipped with a variety of game tables, computer lab with internet, TV/movie and video equipment, homework room and music room. The center provides a safe environment with educational and recreational activities for children in Grades six through twelve. There is a lab instructor and a creative arts instructor to assist children. It is open to youth after school. Open hours are Monday to Friday 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. On no school days, the program is open from 1300-1800. Call CIV 06371 86 8658 or DSN 314-486-8658.
Youth have to be registered annually with the U.S. Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz Child and Youth Services Central Enrollment, located in Building 162, on Rhine Ordinance Barracks. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Telephone numbers are CIV 0611-143-541-9065/66/67 or DSN 314-541-9065/66/67. There is no cost for annual registration to use CYS facilities. To participate in classes or sports a fee will be charged. For registration procedures visit their website.
Youth Center Programs
The center encourages teens to become part of the Youth Council and Youth Volunteer Program, Promise Passport Program. This promotes individual and group volunteer participation through established Child and Youth and School Services Programs and collaboration with various installation and community organizations. The program's main message is to promote selfless service. It offers workshops on Youth Effectiveness Training, Summer Hire Professional Development, Youth Sponsorship and Job Ready Training Field Trips.
Youth Sports and Fitness
Skill development and fun are the focus of the CYS Sports and Fitness Program. It provides opportunities for children and youth to play in an organized, and safe environment where participation and good sportsmanship are encouraged. SAC Fitness is a youth and fitness program for Grades one through five. Start Smart helps young children, aged three to four years, to develop basic and fine motor skills via developmentally appropriate learning activities.
Intramural sports are for intermediate students and teens which include not only sports but fitness programs (i.e. eating right, body sculpting), health awareness designed to foster self-esteem, sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, fun and skills development. Youth Sponsorship Program
A Sponsorship Program is available for incoming youth to assist them in adjusting to their new community. Youth are trained as sponsors and "hooked-up" with newcomers to show them around, help them meet new people and make them feel welcome. Youth Social Programs
Center programs include tournaments, clubs, lock-ins, overnight and weekend trips; winter, spring break and summer camps when school is out. Schools of Knowledge, Inspiration, Exploration and Skills (SKIES Unlimited) provide the youth opportunities to explore new skills and pursue and nurture personal interests with high quality instructional classes such as Dance, Martial Arts and Gymnastics.

Boys and Girls Club
The Landstuhl Youth Center maintains an active affiliation with the Boys and Girls Club of America and the 4-H Club. Programs and activities of the Boys and Girls Club and 4-H Club are offered such as Art Competition and Training for Career and Work Force, Photo Club, Torch Club (leadership club), Technical courses and activities. Youth have the opportunity to be recognized on the local level for outstanding participation or work and compete at the national level.
