Military and Family Support Center

Military and Family Support Centers provide information, education and support programs to help balance the demands of military life. Offerings include:

• Personal and family life education assists with developing knowledge and skills to help you navigate your mobile military life.
• Personal financial readiness assists you and your family in building and maintaining your financial readiness.

• Information and referral can assist you in identifying and clarifying needs and locating and connecting to services and programs available both on and off your installation.

The Army Community Service at USAG Rheinland-Pfalz is a full-service family center that provides comprehensive assistance to Soldiers, Department of Defense Civilians and Family Members. • The Army Family Action Plan is a program to identify and address quality of life issues from the garrison to the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army. The program facilitates information connection between local Army community members and Army leadership for issues that cannot be resolved using the normal local methods and need higher level consideration. • Army Family Team Building Program provides information and skills for Family Members to develop self-esteem, confidence, independence and leadership with online and onsite classes. • Army Volunteer Corp: Volunteering is a way of gaining skills and work experience which can be used in employment and college applications. It is important to document your volunteer hours. • Exceptional Family Member Program provides information and support to family members with special physical and emotional needs. EFMP caregivers are trained and certified to take care of family members with special needs. EFMP families are provided up to 40 hours of respite care depending on their needs. • Family Advocacy Program provides prevention programs, victim assistance, supportive services, and new Parent Support in the form of Life Skills classes and fun events to encourage healthy families. Classes, workshops and playgroups are geared to dealing with stress, anger, improving relationships, effective discipline, child abuse prevention, effective communication and emergency placement. • Survivor Outreach Services demonstrates the Army’s commitment to families of fallen Service Members. SOS uses a multi-agency approach to delivering services to Survivors by providing advocates at the garrisons and communities closest to where families live. SOS will allow the Army to better identify the needs of others touched by the loss of a soldier.
