Temporary Housing

Eligibility/Orders

The Air Force Inns & Lodging operates six lodging facilities and five temporary lodging facilities on three different installations (Ramstein, Vogelweh and Landstuhl). Ramstein Central Reservations serves the Kaiserslautern Military Community. All military identification card holders are eligible to stay in billeting. As soon as you get your orders, call Ramstein Central Reservations and reserve your room at 011-49-6371-45-4920 or DSN 314-480-4920. You will need a copy of your permanent change of station orders when you check-in. Please coordinate and verify your reservation with your sponsor.

Availability, Costs and Registration

Personnel with orders have priority. When there is no room available for those on orders, a non-availability letter will be provided to allow you to stay off-post. Check-in time is 2 p.m. and check-out time is 11 a.m. Please go to  the Air Force Inns & Lodging website for current rates and information.

Maximum Length of Stay

Personnel completing a PCS into KMC can stay up to 30 days while departing personnel stay for 10 days.

Pet Restrictions

There are pet-friendly rooms available at Ramstein but not at Vogelweh or Landstuhl. When you book a room, let Ramstein Central Reservations know that you’re bringing your pet or pets. You are required to keep your pets inside the kennel provided in your room when you are not in the room.

Special Needs

There are two TLF rooms for special needs families each at Ramstein and Landstuhl and one in Vogelweh. You will need to request accommodations for special needs when you call for reservations.

TLF arrangements can be made prior to your arrival by your sponsor at the Air Force Inns & Lodging facilities or hotels in the economy. You can reach Ramstein Inn central reservations at 011-49-6371-47-4920, DSN 314-480-4920. Housing in KMC is scarce, therefore, concurrent travel is discouraged, especially for families requiring large apartments with four or more bedrooms. The projected waiting time for government quarters can be up to 12 months.

If you are bringing your pet with you, let your sponsor know. There are a few billets allowing pets at Ramstein but nothing available in Vogelweh and Landstuhl. In the event there are no rooms allowing pets, there are several kennels in the area.
