Contact information for key programs and services at this installation.
A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
The Kaiserslautern Lending Closet on Kleber Kaserne can help ease the permanent change of station transition into your new home. The Lending Closet is stocked with basic kitchen items needed upon arrival or before departure. Dishes, pots and pans, utensils, toasters, microwaves and irons and ironing boards are some of the items available on loan. This important service provided under the Relocation Assistance Program helps mobile Military Families get settled quickly by providing families with their household needs. It is best to bring your own linens (pillows, bed sheets, blankets, towels, etc.) in your unaccompanied baggage or personal luggage since the Lending Closet does not carry these items.
To borrow items from the Lending Closet, Soldiers, Family Members and Department of Defense Civilians need to visit the Army Community Service Relocation Readiness office during normal business hours, and must bring the following items:
Items will be issued on a first-come, first-serve basis and are subject to availability. Incoming personnel may borrow items for a 60-day period. If household goods have not been received at the end of 60 days, an extension may be granted. Outgoing personnel may borrow items after their household goods have been shipped until the day before they clear housing.
The ACS Lending Closet is located on Kleber Kaserne, Building 3210, Room 206, on the second floor. For more information, call the ACS Lending Closet at 011-49-611-143-541-9007 or DSN 314-541-9007.
