There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
The Whiteman Inn provides service to all incoming personnel.
If you are single and plan on living in the dormitory, arrangements can be made by your unit to have a room available upon arrival.
If you are married, check into the Whiteman Inn for lodging or a non-availability notice if a room is not available for you or your family. Limited space is available for pets in the TLFs. Statements of non-availability are not authorized if a pet-designated room is not available. If space is not available, arrangements must be made for your pet at a local kennel. Don’t forget to bring your pet's shot record with you as you travel.

The Whiteman Inn is located at 325 Mitchell Avenue; call DSN 312-975-1844 or 660-687-1844. The Inn operates 24 hours a day and has a total of 94 rooms. We are very proud of our accommodations and hope your visit is a very pleasant and enjoyable one. Customer satisfaction is our goal, and service is our business. A limited number of pet-friendly units are available. For these units, guests will be assessed a $10.00 pet fee/night for up to 2 PETS are allowed. All Air Force Inn rooms are no-smoking, no vaping, and no firearms. Violators may be charged a fee of up to $150.
The front counter is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to assist you. When checking in, Department of Defense identification must be shown. Advance payment must be made at check-in or secured with a credit card; Visa, Mastercard and club proprietary cards are accepted. Payment may be made at any time day or night. A $25 fee is charged for any returned check. Late or deferred payments must be approved in advance by the lodging manager. Refunds for advance payments or overpayments are made on the spot or mailed to you.
Checkout is 11 a.m.; late checkouts will be charged an additional fee. If you anticipate a delay in checking out, notify the front desk immediately and an allowance will be made, if possible. The lodging staff may hold your luggage at the front desk if needed. At the time of checkout, we ask you to secure your guest room and return the key to the front desk.
Due to the fact that we have a reserve unit attached to the base, accommodations may be unavailable on reserve weekends unless advance reservations are made. Also, due to a significant increase in base mission requirements, we recommend that you call for reservations as soon as possible to ensure we can accommodate you.
The closest hotels from Whiteman Air Force Base are located in Knob Noster (five miles from base). Whiteman Inn has no contract Lodging in Knob Noster. However, there are facilities in Warrensburg and Sedalia that can meet the government rate with the contract lodging (CL) letter we provide.
