When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
Arrival and Sign-In
All newly arrived Department of Defense members must report to their squadron command support staff within 24 hours (one duty day) of arriving in country. The team will provide the required in‑processing checklists, applications, and forms. Your sponsor or unit is responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate forms and copies before you begin in‑processing.
Welcome and In‑Processing Schedule
All military personnel and civilians must attend Wyvern Welcome (Base Newcomers Orientation and In‑Processing). Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. Pre‑registration is required by contacting the Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) at Commercial 011‑39‑0434‑30‑5407 or DSN 632‑5407. Classes run Wednesday through Thursday. On Friday, the optional Benvenuti (Welcome) Cultural Adaptation Tour is offered to Wyvern Welcome attendees (registration required). The tour introduces Italian culture, including a winery visit with tasting, a stop at a local outdoor market, and practical tips for living in Italy.
