Check-in Procedures Overview

When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.

Reporting Procedures

Arrival and Sign-in

All newly arrived Department of Defense members must report to their respective squadron command support staff within 24 hours (one duty day) of arrival in country. They will provide in-processing checklists, applications and forms. Your sponsor or unit is responsible for making sure you have the appropriate forms and copies prior to in-processing.

Welcome and in-processing schedule

All military and self-sponsored civilians must attend the Wyvern Welcome (Base Newcomers Orientation and In-Processing); Spouses are highly encouraged to attend. Pre-registration is required. Please contact the Military and Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) at Commercial 011-39-0434-30-5407; DSN 632-5407 to sign up to attend the next available class. The classes run Wednesday-Thursday.
On Friday the Benvenuti (Welcome) Cultural Adaptation Tour is optional for those attending the Wyvern Welcome; registration required. The tour is a great way to dive into the Italian culture. There will be a visit to a winery with wine tasting, seeing a local outside market and lots of information and tips for living in Italy.
