When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.

Kingman Road, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060-6221 at 571-767-7957.

Be sure to hand carry important documents, such as marriage certificate, PCS orders, household goods inventory, bank and financial statements, health records, school records, and government issued identification.
Make lodging reservations for the trip well in advance. There are no hotels or lodging within walking distance to the McNamara complex. Lodging facilities are available on Fort Belvoir. However, the hotel shuttle services are not scheduled to leave Fort Belvoir nor enter the McNamara complex. If an extended stay is required before a permanent move, consider driving times, not just driving distances, for the commute to the McNamara building. The surrounding area roads are regularly highly congested, especially during peak commute times.
When it comes to marriage and PCS, timing is everything. If you get married before you PCS, inform your commander and military personnel office for instructions on Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) registration, PCS orders adjustment, and additional instructions. Failure to follow proper procedures could prove quite costly for the service member.
