When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Here, you can find installation-specific guidelines and a list of documents to bring with you when checking- in. Reach out to the contacts provided if you have specific questions.
Personnel with orders to F.E. Warren Air Force Base during July are encouraged to not report if at all possible, during the last two full weeks of July. This is the time of the annual Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo celebration and space on the base will be at a premium. All lodging in Cheyenne and the surrounding area will be limited (if available at all) and what is available will be very expensive. Personnel with Permanent Change of Station orders have priority but that does not guarantee any lodging in Temporary Lodging Facility during this time.
Arrival/In-Processing:
Your sponsor will meet you and assist during your transition to F. E. Warren. Upon arrival, check in with your sponsor and in-process with your assigned Commander's Support Staff on the first duty day. Hand-carry your orders and the sealed records package from your previous military personnel flight for this appointment.
Once you have signed into your new unit, the Commander's Support Staff will schedule your Warren Welcome Center in-processing appointment that will take place within 72 hours. Additionally, you’ll receive information on our monthly newcomer's briefing known as Right Start which is held in our Trails End Event Center. Right Start is normally held on the second Wednesday of the month and you'll be scheduled for this during your Welcome Center inprocessing appointment. Depending on the unit, members may also have additional requirements.
Your sponsor will help you with any questions or problems before your arrival and while you're getting settled. Please exchange phone numbers, e-mail addresses and your travel itinerary with your sponsor. If you do not have a sponsor prior to arrival, contact your gaining unit or the Relocations Manager at 307-773-5946 or DSN 312-481-5946 for assistance.
Warren Welcome Center Appointment:
The Warren Welcome Center is a one-stop, highly efficient process for newly arrived Airmen and Families. The primary mission of the WWC consists of efficiently and accurately in-processing airmen and their families.
Members can expect to be fully in-processed by the Military Personnel Flight, Catastrophe Personnel Tracking System, Military Housing Offices, Traffic Management Office, in approximately 2 hours, and complete all F.E. Warren AFB in-processing requirements within 45 days of arrival.
The WWC appointment hours are Tuesday and Wednesday at 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. in building 210, 7405 Barnes Loop.
Military members are required to wear duty uniform when in processing.
First Term Airman are required to be accompanied to the WWC in-processing appointment by their sponsor or unit member.
Members are encouraged to bring family members with them to the WWC appointment.

First Term Airmen's Center
The FTAC program is mandatory for all first duty station airmen. In one week, airmen complete a five-step program to include in-processing, professionalism briefings, ancillary training, mission orientation, and miscellaneous transition needs.
Documents to Hand Carry
Ensure to hand-carry PCS orders, BMT/Tech Training Graduation Certificate (first duty station airmen), household goods inventories, marriage/birth certificates, ID cards, DEERS info/cards, weight receipts if Personally Procured Move (PPM) (formerly DITY move), and all other documents of value.
General Delivery Address to the Official Mail Center (FE Warren AFB)
- If you are PCSing to F.E Warren and are not going to live in the dorms, you may have your mail sent to the main post office in Cheyenne for a 30 day hold. That mailing address is:

This mail can be picked up at the main post office at 4800 Converse Ave in Cheyenne. Their hours are 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. M-F, 7 a.m.-1 p.m on Saturday. All you need is a photo ID to pick up your mail. Main Post Office will hold this mail for 30 days. When you get a new permanent residence do a new COA from your old address to your new address, not the general delivery address.
Dorm Residents
If you are a going to be a Dorm Resident, you are authorized a PO Box at FE Warren’s Post Office (Building 235), paid for by the 90th Force Support Squadron, verified by the Dorm Manager(Building. 230/ Basement) and the F.E Warren Post Office.
In order to receive a PO Box, you or your sponsor must:
1. Take/email inbound member’s information to Dorm Manager’s office, Building 230/Bsmt,773-3014) to get a Building /Room number.
2. Go to the FE Warren Post Office, Building 235 with that information and a copy of the newcomer’s orders to reserve them a PO Box.
3. Complete a PS Form 1093, Application for Post Office Box to be held until member arrives.
4. Send that address to the inbound airmen so they can do a Change of Address before they leave Tech School. Upon arrival/in-processing, newcomer signs their 1093 at the base post office and receives their key. Example of an on-base PO Box address is as follows:

If you fail to address your package as above, there is a chance it will be returned to sender.

Temporary Lodging Reservations
F. E. Warren now has Recreational Lodging (no more Air Force Inns). Temporary accommodations on the base are limited. For reservations, please call, 307-773-2944/2988 or DSN 312-481-2944/2988 or can be made online at www.funatwarren.com.
Length of Stay
All military members residing in the TLF are authorized to remain there for up to 30 days; however only 14 days will be reimbursed.
Permissive TDY
Request permissive TDY for house hunting at your current installation. The commander can grant up to eight days; 10 days if returning from overseas and not in conjunction with your PCS move.
Command Sponsorship
If you get married or are married before your PCS, you must inform your commander and follow the procedures exactly as you are given them. All dependents of the service member authorized to travel and reside at the gaining base will be annotated on the service members PCS orders. The military will not pay for travel, housing, and medical of your spouse and/or dependents if you do not follow proper procedures.
