The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.

The Education and Training Office at F.E. Warren AFB provides active duty service members and their families a wide range of educational opportunities. These opportunities include off-duty education, commissioning programs (USAF Academy, AFROTC and OTS), tuition assistance (TA), Professional Military Education (PME) by correspondence, VA (GI Bill®) educational benefits counseling, Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) counseling, College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES), and professional guidance counseling.
The center provides classrooms for a variety of courses offered by Laramie County Community College (LCCC), Park University, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Distance Learning (online courses) has become a very useful educational tool for students on active duty who work rotating shifts or for those who prefer to attend a specific school in another state.
Tuition Assistance (TA) pays 100% of tuition, up to $4500 per fiscal year. Enroll in an accredited school and complete TA request through the Air Force Portal (www.my.af.mil). For those who are eligible for the Montgomery GI Bill® (MGIB) and attend schools with tuition that exceeds TA funding limitations, VA Top-Up may be used to cover the added expenses in tuition. Staff can provide details of VA Top-Up to those eligible for MGIB.
Members may sign up for PME through the center. Squadron Officers School, Air Command and Staff College, Air War College, and Senior NCO Academy (Course 12) are all examples of voluntary PME.
Interested in a commission? Contact a Guidance Counselor for an appointment to discuss your options and to determine eligibility for a commissioning program.
