Youth Center Information:Youth Programs, located at the Youth Center, 1755 Piute Drive has a variety of programs for the F.E. Warren youth and is affiliated with 4-H through a University of Wyoming Military 4-H grant and the Boys and Girls Club of American. Includes an accredited Before and After School and Summer Day Camp for ages 5-12, an Open Recreation Program for ages 9-12 and 13-18 on weekdays, and a diverse Sports Program. School Age Care ProgramAs a Council on Accreditation accredited program we provide before and after school care in a fun and safe environment! Our program is designed to enhance or reinforce lifelong leisure skills, academic progress, avocations, and interests to promote individual development. Our facility caters to children aged 5-12 who attend Freedom or Pioneer Park Elementary Schools. The Laramie County School District provides transportation to and from these locations. The Youth Center is closed for all federal holidays as well as approved family days. We are open all day for our enrolled youth on other full and half days out of school. Fees are based on gross household income (including BAH/BAS and other special pay) and placement is based on a priority system. We have separate enrollments for winter break, spring break, summer break, and new school years! Please check our Facebook page or call the Youth Center regarding registration dates.
Youth AnnexThe Youth Center Annex is located at 6205 Randall, this program is recreational, which provides a safe, secure, fun environment after school and during special events. With a focus on Boys and Girls Club of America and 4-H programming, we are dedicated to the betterment of our youth by encouraging participation in our Keystone Club, Torch Club, and more. This facility is for youth aged 9-18 and is only $60 annually! The Laramie County School District provides transportation to the Annex from Freedom Elementary School, McCormick Junior High School, and Central High School. The Annex is closed for all federal holidays as well as approved family days. Our hours are adjusted for our enrolled youth on other full and half days out of school.Youth Annex Teen Late NightsThe Teen Program serves youth aged 13-18 and/or those currently enrolled in 7th grade. The program offers a wide range of activities and special events including pizza/movie nights, lock-ins, community service projects, trips to Denver for sporting events, et cetera. Additional fees for events may be required.
FCC Information:Family Child Care (FCC) offers an excellent alternative for parents who would like their children cared for in a home setting. Care is provided in military housing as well as off base. Caregivers are licensed by the 90th Mission Support Group Commander and must meet strict Air Force requirements.Caregivers are required to complete a 40-hour orientation training class prior to licensing that includes CPR and First Aid certification, 15 Air Force standardized training modules, 24-hours of annual training and passing a comprehensive background check that includes family members.FCC providers complete a monthly 17-page self assessment that ensures the safety, health and well-being of your child or children as well as receive monthly unannounced visits from the FCC Coordinator.Providers offer daily activities that promote social, self, creative, physical and cognitive development. Your child or children will receive individualized attention in a small group setting that is warm, caring, nurturing and educational. Referral lists for in-home providers may be obtained from a variety of agencies on base such as the FCC, Child Development Center, M&FRC or Community Support.FCC also offers Extended Duty Care, Air Force Aid PCS Care and Volunteer Care and serves as back-up for Give Parents a Break. Child and Youth Services – Child Care-Other Information:Give Parents a Break is a free child care program for active duty members with children ages 6 weeks to 11 years that are under unique stress. The program is available once per month in 4 hour blocks. You may request a referral from your squadron commander, first sergeant, chaplain, medical professional, Family Advocacy, Military and Family Readiness Center or the Child Development Center.
Special Needs ChildrenChildren with special needs are accommodated with approval by the base medical advisor. STRIDE Learning Center is a developmental preschool located in the City of Cheyenne and addresses the needs of children 3 - 5 years of age. Eligibility is determined through a developmental evaluation process which includes hearing and vision screenings. The CDC works closely with STRIDE professionals to ensure children are recognized and referred for screening. Services are conducted for those children identified at STRIDE or in some cases can be conducted on sight at the CDC.
