Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Please contact the Child and Youth Program point of contact at this installation if you require information, assistance or resources for child care in your local community.
All of JBER's Child Development Programs are certified by DoD and are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. For more information about JBER’s Child Development Programs, please visit the JBER Life site and select the heading “Family” at the top left.
Child Development Centers on Installation
There are four Child Development Centers (CDC) on JBER, offering full day care for children 6 weeks to 5 years.
The JBER Family Child Care (FCC) program offers a variety of flexible care options that meet regular and mission related child care needs to include full day, hourly, before/after school, extended care (overnight and weekend), special needs, and on and off-post care. If interested in using the Family Child Care Program please request care through Militarychildcare.com. For questions or concerns please contact the Family Child Care Office at Building 5091 10th St., 907-552-3995. Walk in hours for the Family Child Care Office are 0800-1100 and by appointment 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
There are two School Age Centers (SAC) on JBER, offering before and after school care to children 5 years (Kindergarten) -12 years. The SACs also offer full time care during the summer and during school breaks.
Dependents of active duty military, DoD/NAF civilian employees and government contractors are eligible to utilize the programs. A priority for use system has been established at per AFI34-144.
Registration and Enrollment
All childcare for CDCs, FCC providers, and SACs must be requested through Militarychildcare.com . Once space is available, parents/guardians will be contacted to begin the formal registration process. Registration and enrollment is completed at each center/FCC home where care is requested.
