If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.
Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO. These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals. The Education Center offers professional educational counseling, testing, learning center services, as well as, on installation college courses registration. All members of the Fort Sam Houston community (active duty service member, family members, and civilian employees) are serviced.

Randolph has one of the finest and most comprehensive education programs in the Air Force. The Education Center provides a broad range of programs and services in conjunction with the local colleges and universities in the San Antonio area. The Army Education Center has expanded the availability of its testing services to military dependents, retirees and DOD civilians . While active duty personnel have priority, testing for all others will be done on a space available basis. All testing requires preapproval through an Ed Center Counselor per AR-621-5. Once approved the exam will be schedule your exam. Proctored exams are available at the National Test Center by appointment only. Please contact the center for more information. Testing services are NOT available on a walk-in basis.

Professional guidance counseling is available for active duty, DoD civilians and dependents on both a walk-in and appointment basis. A National Test Center provides CLEP/DANTES, PME and university exams.
Military members and their families are eligible for resident tuition rates at Texas state supported colleges and universities. To qualify, be prepared to take a copy of the military member's orders and any other documentation the admissions office may require. Tuition assistance is authorized for active duty personnel only. Information pertaining to financial aid is available from the Education Office, Militay & Family Readiness Center or by contacting the colleges directly.
The focal point for all college education programs at Lackland is the Education and Testing Center. Professional guidance counselors are available for both active duty and dependents on an appointment basis. Complete testing facilities are available to include CLEP, DSST, SAT, and other specialized tests.
Information pertaining to financial aid is available to all personnel. Tuition assistance is authorized for active duty personnel. A number of colleges and universities provide on-base courses and programs for both personal and career needs. Information and counseling about these programs, as well as those available within the San Antonio community, are available from the on-base Education Services or by contacting the colleges directly.
