Loan Closet Overview

A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good.  This  program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.

The Loan Locker (Lending Closet) at the Military & Family Readiness Center provides temporary use of household items to incoming and departing permanent party personnel, temporary duty personnel and civilians. Items available include dish packs, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards, toasters, futons, vacuum cleaners, card tables, folding chairs and other basic household items to help you while your household goods are in transition.

Note: Please bring a copy of your orders. There is a time limit for borrowed items; however, extensions may be granted.

  • Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston: To Loan Locker at JBSA - Fort Sam Houston is available Monday-Friday (7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.)  by appointment. Closed 1st and 3rd Thursday: 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. Call 210-221-2705 for details and available items. 
  • Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph: The Loan Locker at JBSA - Randolph is available Monday-Friday (8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.) by appointment. Closed 1st and 3rd Thursday: 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Call 210-652-5321 for details and available items.
