With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
Before selecting a temporary lodging facility, be sure you understand your Temporary Lodging Entitlement (TLE). TLE is designed to partially reimburse the cost of temporary lodging for PCS'ing personnel between the time their permanent residence is no longer habitable and they start their travel to the next destination AND between the time their travel stops and they find permanent lodging, not to exceed 10 days. For more information on TLE, ask your Relocation Assistance Program manager at the Fleet & Family Support Center (listed in the Installation Contacts section of Military Installations) or your PSD Travel personnel.
