Contact information for key programs and services at this installation.
A loan closet is a program that allows service members, families and loved ones to borrow durable equipment or resources especially as they are awaiting their household good. This program varies by service so check out the below information to see what is offered at this installation.
Hospitality Kits are available to borrow and include pots, pans, dishes, cups and glasses, silverware and cooking utensils. Toasters, irons, ironing boards and coffee makers are available on request.
There is no linen service available through the Loan Locker, so please ensure you pack those items along with all other items essential to your comfort in your unaccompanied baggage until your household goods shipment arrives. No government furniture is available for loan.
Additionally, you may also consider packing your own starter kit.
When you send household goods under permanent change of station orders to an authorized location, such as your next duty station, you can be reimbursed for the cost of postage. Keep the postage receipt and include it with your documents when liquidating your household goods shipment. All you need is an address to send the boxes to, such as your gaining command or your sponsor (with their permission, of course). In this way, you can send your own starter kit which includes air mattresses, sleeping bags, kitchen items, alarm clocks and any other items you need until your household goods shipment is delivered. Shipping household goods via the U.S. mail gives you the flexibility of sending some items early, so you will know they will be available upon your arrival to your new PCS location.
NOTE: Before creating and shipping your own starter kit, discuss your plans with your local outbound Personal Property Office.
These kits are available to incoming and outgoing personnel and their families for a period of two weeks with extensions approved on a case by case basis. Contact the Fleet and Family Service Center at 425-304-3367/3716/3735 or DSN 312-727-3367 for more information.
