A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
Youth Activities Center
The Youth Activities Center at NS Mayport offers programs for children enrolled in kindergarten to 18 years old. The programs include School Age Care, the Teen Center and seasonal camps, are designed to enrich your child's social, cognitive, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth and development. Programs are available to dependents of military and DOD personnel.
School Age Care
This program is available for children kindergarten through 12 years of age. Trained counselors provide care before and after school, help children with homework, art and crafts, nature walks and other activities. All counselors have experience in childhood education and are CPR and First Aid Certified. Snacks are provided. Fees are established by the Department of Defense and are structured on a sliding scale based on total family income. Registration for care can be made at: militarychildcare.com.

Camps
Summer Camp, Spring Break Camp, and Holiday Camp are three of the many programs provided by the Youth Activities Center. Summer Camp is available for children ages 6 to 12 years old. Meals and snacks are provided.
Teen Center
The teen center is available for children 12 to 18 years of age, who are enrolled in middle and high school. Club Teen has an array of special events, field trips and clubs monthly.
The Summer Teen Employment Program is a great opportunity offered through a grant from Comnmander Navy Installations command. This program gives many teens their first professional job and helps them understand what the working world is all about.
Youth Sponsorship
The Navy Youth Sponsorship Program is a collaborative effort between the Youth Activities Center, The School Liaison Officer and the local school system. Relocating can be challenging for military youth, thus the program helps facilitate transition and orientation for transfer students. The program also provides support during deployments while promoting academic achievement and successful social and emotional adjustment at school and home.
