Installation Specific Information
Relocation to any duty assignment requires much pre-planning and as necessary, family cooperation and involvement. Children are particularly affected by the stress and changes involved with a major move, and their needs must not be overlooked. All family members should become active players in the relocation effort. Even single sailors need to be aware of their needs and expectations when ordered to an overseas assignment.
The Fleet and Family Support Center Relocation Assistance Program assists single, married, married with children, single parents and family members of active-duty and mobilized reservist and active reservist personnel relocating to Mayport, Florida. Welcome Aboard packages are available for newcomers, as is housing and apartment locator information.
We cannot stress enough how important it is to request a sponsor from your gaining command. Your sponsor will be your eyes and ears and will assist in a smooth transition. If you have not been assigned a sponsor yet please see the major unit listing to request one.
The FFSC’s RAP can make your move a lot easier. The center will provide you with all the necessary resources to make your transition to a new base efficient and simple.
