A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
The Youth Center is located directly across from the Scott Elementary School in Patriots Landing housing. This 26,300 square foot facility has a broad range of programs for youth 5 to 18 years of age. For general members we offer a computer lab, gymnasium, rock climbing wall, game room, snack bar and "The Neighborhood", a multi-purpose room that provides youth with the opportunity to engage in arts & craft activities, board games, leisurely reading, science adventure and much more.
Youth Programs offer activities in the five core program areas: character & leadership development; the arts; youth sports, fitness, and recreation; health & life skills; and education & career development.
"Power Hour", a homework help and tutoring program, is offered during the school year Monday through Friday.
Special clubs such as Torch Club, 4-H, and Keystone Club name a few of the opportunities that youth can become involved.
The Youth Center Sports Program offers a wide range of team and individual sports for youth ages 5-18. All of our sports are recreational style and geared more toward skill development. All of our volunteer coaches are required to complete the NYSCA coaches' certification course and have a completed background check before we will issue them a team. Youth Sports program includes leagues in Baseball, Softball, T-Ball, Soccer, Gym Hockey, and Basketball.
The teens on Scott AFB also have many extra-curricular program to choose from such as Keystone Club, Teen Council and much more!

Curfew
Persons under 17 years of age are not allowed to be out of doors beyond the immediate vicinity of their home between the hours of 11:00 PM and 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday.
Curfew on Friday and Saturday nights is between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM. Exceptions to this policy are juveniles who are accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult person having care and custody for the child. If a juvenile is attending a base function, curfew begins one-half hour after the official close of the event. Juveniles who are employed, during the curfew hours, must travel directly from work to their residence. Curfew is an Illinois law and is enforced on Scott AFB.
Driver's License
If you are 15 to 17 years old, you may receive your instruction permit only if you are enrolled in an approved driver education class. The instruction permit is valid for 24 months and must be held for at least three months prior to obtaining a driver's license when you are 16 years of age or older. If you are 17 year and 9 months of age or older, you may apply for an instruction permit without taking driver education course.
