Although military members that are notified of a new assignment are encouraged to financially plan for their move, if a financial emergency arises, the Air Force Aid Society may be able to provide emergency financial assistance on a case-by-case basis. If an emergency occurs enroute to your next duty station, contact the nearest military base. If no military installation is located in the immediate vicinity of the location of the emergency, military members are encouraged to contact the American Red Cross which can act as a liaison to the various relief agencies.
During a permanent-change-of-station move, Air Force members with children are authorized up to 20 free hours of child care per child within 60 days of departing their old base and an additional 20 free hours per child within 60 days of arrival at Scott AFB. Child care hours must be used in a family child care home licensed by the base.
