Legal Assistance

The Office of the Staff Judge Advocate located at 375 Air Mobility Wing Headquarters Building P-3 offers free professional legal advice concerning a wide range of personal civil legal matters. Among other issues, assistance is provided for:

• Wills
• Domestic relations
• Dependent care issues
• Landlord-tenant problems
• Consumer affairs

Advice may also be sought regarding local and state laws including weapons possession Illinois has unique laws and other significant local statutes.

Eligibility for Services

Legal assistance is available to active-duty personnel including National Guardsmen and reservists on Title 10 status, their dependents, and retired military personnel regardless of service branch or unit of assignment. Attorney-client confidentiality is strictly observed.

Types of Services and Hours of Operation

The Legal Office main line is 618-256-3542 DSN: 576-3542. Hours of Operation are Monday through Wednesday & Fridays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., by appointment only at this time.

The legal office is closed every Thursday.

The Legal Office processes claims both for and against the Air Force arising out of incidents occurring at Scott Air Force Base and at locations under its responsibility.

For household goods claims, contact the carrier first. If you do not receive prompt service, contact the Claims Service Center.
