With certain military moves, you may find yourself looking for housing that’s a little less permanent before making long-term arrangements. There are several temporary housing options that may be right for you. Explore the information about temporary housing facilities including allowances, lodging rates and eligibility.
Directions
Temporary Lodging/Scott Inn is located at 460 W. Winters St. When entering the base through the Shiloh Gate, turn a right at the last stoplight onto West Winters Street, then proceed over the bridge and into the Scott Inn parking lot on your right.
When entering from the Belleville Gate, take the first left onto West Winters Street and proceed over the bridge and into the Scott Inn parking lot on your right.
Availability
Lodging is available to those on temporary duty travel or making a permanent change of station to Scott Air Force Base, to active duty and retirees traveling in the area or those visiting with military members. Our rooms are equipped with cable televisions, Wi-Fi, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, ironing boards and irons. Laundry facilities are also available for your convenience. Scott temporary lodging facilities consists of 85 fully-furnished, three-bedroom homes designed to accommodate a family of up to five members (or six family members, if one of the children is of crib age). Each unit contains the items needed to set up a temporary home.
Reservations
Reservations are taken on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability. Personnel who are in PCS status, or bona fide house hunters on permissive TDY assignment, may make reservation requests with the Lodging Office. Reservation requests are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis without regard to rank. Personnel who are PCSing to Scott or their sponsors may make the request for reservations. A copy of PCS orders must be provided to the Lodging Office before or at the time of registration.
House hunters must provide a copy of their permissive TDY orders or leave authorization, as well as a copy of the PCS, retirement or separation orders at the time of registration.
Reservation requests accepted by the Lodging Office cannot be confirmed until a space is available.
The current rates for temporary lodging at Scott AFB are as follows:
Length of Stay
Both inbound and outbound personnel may make reservations for up to 30 days, provided that rooms are available.
Pets
A limited number of pet-friendly TLF units are available (13). Members requesting a pet-friendly unit should request it at the time of reservation. The copy of the pet's vaccination records will be required at check-in; adherence to all guidelines established by the Scott Inn will also be required during your stay. A fee of $10 per night is charged.
The TLFs provide convenient, temporary living units for incoming and outgoing military personnel and their families. Each of the 85 units is designed to accommodate a family of up to five members (or six family members, if one of the children is of crib age). Each unit is equipped with items needed to set up a temporary home. Supplemental items may be borrowed from the Airman and Family Readiness Center Loan Locker. A limited number of pet-friendly TLF units area available for an additional $10 per night fee.
The new six-story Scott Inn opened in January 2018 and features 284 rooms and 17 suites. Additionally, the rooms at Scott Inn feature cable televisions, Wi-Fi, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers, ironing boards and irons.
