Reporting Procedures
Willkommen to Spangdahlem AB, Home of the Sabers! We are excited to have you as a member of our community!
All newly arrived members will report to their respective Squadron Command Support Staff on their first day. Your CSS will provide you with a base and unit in-processing checklist and additional forms you might need.
Two-Day Newcomers Orientation
As part of your in-processing, you will be attending the 2-Day Newcomers Orientation, hosted by the Military & Family Readiness Center, to receive mandatory briefs from agencies – some on your in-processing checklist. To prepare for your PCS, visit the Spangdahlem AB Newcomers' website to view the Pre-Arrival Video Series, where you can watch virtual presentations from M&FRC, the Passport Office, Child and Youth Programs, the School Liaison Program and much more.
Travel Planning
Before arriving, discuss with your sponsor:
Lodging rooms can be booked in advance and don't require orders at the time of reservation. Please have a copy of your PCS orders when you check in, as they may need to be verified by the Guest Services Representative at that time. Report to the Lodging Office upon arrival to check into your room. If you still need to secure lodging, please visit the Eifel Arms Inn. A major credit card is required for booking. When making a reservation, include any special requests such as pet accommodations.
The reservation department at Lodging will gladly work with individual or group bookings for active duty, DOW civilian, Guard/reserve groups, PCSing members/families, TDY travel and Space Available reservations. To start your reservation, please call DSN: 314-452-0500 or Commercial: 06565-94-89989 within Germany or 011-49-6565-94-89989 from the United States. You can also contact them by email at 52fss.fsvllodgingreservations@us.af.mil.
First term airmen who are required to live in the dorms should coordinate with their sponsors to move directly into their assigned dormitory upon arrival.
If you are not living in the dorms, contact the Housing Office within 2 duty days of arrival. The Housing Office contact information is: DSN 314-452-7133 or Comm: +49 06565-61-7133.

If you are bringing your pet to Germany, visit the Spangdahlem AB Newcomers’ Page and view the Veterinary Clinic video for any requirements needed before travel.
Upon arrival, all active-duty service members and civilian employees should immediately contact their unit assigned CSS, who will provide you with a unit in-processing checklist.
Finance in-processing must be completed within 5 duty days of arrival.
If you're planning on getting married enroute, congratulations! Let your sponsor and first sergeant know, so you can receive logistical support and command sponsorship information. Also, make sure to visit the Military Personnel Flight to update DEERS.
Additionally, visit the Military and Family Readiness Center in Building 307 for information and resources for you and your spouse as you navigate married life, life as a military spouse and/or life at Spangdahlem Air Base. The M&FRC offers workshops, such as Saber Spouse Connection, that are intended for military spouses to learn about resources on Spangdahlem AB.
