When you arrive at your new installation, you’ll need to follow installation-specific procedures. Each installation and service handles in-processing differently. Upon arrival you will have both base-and unit-level in-processing to accomplish. These checklists can be obtained through your unit CSS.

The Military & Family Readiness Center hosts Pre-Arrival Orientation to provide a brief synopsis to introduce Service Members and their family to Spangdahlem. During Pre-Arrival, Service Member will become familiar with vehicle registration, Child and Youth Programs, and School Liaison. Please contact M&FRC for the link to register to attend virutually.
Additionally, M&FRC offers Cultural Adaptation workshops and activities to assist you and your family as you settle into your new home. Events such as a tour of Bernkastel-Kues and a train trip to Trier are great ways to start exploring. German cooking classes and cultural workshops to launch you into a successful tour at Spangdahlem AB. For more information on any Cultural Adaptation workshops, contact the Military & Family Readiness Center or like 52 FSS on Facebook, 52D FSS Military & Family Readiness Center.
Upon arriving at Spangdahlem, all Service Members, Active Duty Military and Civilian Service Members (SM) should immediately contact their unit assigned CSS. The unit CSS will ensure the SM has a unit inprocessing checklist to target mandated inprocessing.
All Active Duty Service Members must contact 52 FW/CPTS within five duty days of arrival to manage their financial entitlements.
First Term Airman who are required to live in the dorms should coordinate lodging through their sponsor to move directly into the unit dormitory.
Service Members must contact Housing Office within two duty days upon arrival. Housing Office contact information Comm: +49 011 06565 616802 or DSN 314-452-6802.
If the Service Member requires Temporary lodging upon arriving. Temporary lodging is available through the Eifel Arms Inn located at Building 520. Eifel Arms Inn can be reached 24/7 at DSN 314-452-0500.
When requesting a reservation, the following information is needed:
A major credit card is required when making accommodations.
The reservation department will gladly work with individual or group bookings for active duty, DOD civilian, guard/reserve groups, PCSing members/families, TDY travel, and space available reservations. To start your reservation please call DSN 314-452-0500 or 06565-94-89989 commercial within Germany or 011-49-6565-94-89989 from the United States. You can also contact them by email at 52fss.fsvllodgingreservations@us.af.mil.
If you are planning on getting married en route ensure that your sponsor and First Sergeant know so that you can receive logistical support information. Contact the Military Personnel Flight (Bldg131), DSN 314-452-6554 or Comm 011-49-06565-61-6554, and the 52d Medical Group, DSN 314-452-3360 or Comm 011-49-6565-61-3360, who handle all command sponsorship upon your arrival.
Additionally visit Military & Family Readiness Center (Bldg 307) for more resources to assist you and your spouse, such as registering for the next Heart Link Spouse Orientation workshop that is intended for new military spouses or spouses new to Spangdahlem AB.
