Legal assistance is available to you and your family. Below, you’ll find information about claims and installation specific programs and services. If you have questions, reach out to the legal assistance program at your installation.
The Legal Office offers legal assistance to Active-Duty members, Reserve/Guard members on Title 10 orders, civilian employees, dependents, retirees, and certain other persons who may be entitled under Air Force regulations.

There are certain limitations on the scope of legal assistance that our attorneys may provide. Our governing directives prohibit conducting legal assistance over the telephone. Also, our attorneys may not prepare documents for court, draft separation agreements or represent you in hearings or court proceedings. Additionally, legal assistance cannot be provided on behalf of another person, on a personal business, or if you have hired a civilian attorney.

German paralegals are also available to assist with matters such as traffic tickets, Kindergeld paperwork and review/interpretation of other German documents.
Claims
The Legal Office does not process claims for household goods, household baggage shipments, and privately owned vehicle shipments. These claims are handled and processed online through the Air Force Claims Center. We recommend you file your claim directly with your carrier so that you can be reimbursed up to the full replacement value of your item within 70 days from date of delivery. However, your claim can be filed with the Air Force Claims Center within 2 years from the dates of delivery, any reimbursement is limited to depreciated value of the item.
