Learn about the types of programs, guidelines and requirements for each school. Whether you choose to send your child to a Department of Defense School, a private school or public school, your installation can help you explore all of your options to make the right decision for you and your child.
DoDEA Europe operates schools at Spangdahlem with classes ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade. The elementary, middle and high schools are located at Eifel Community School Page on the Spangdahlem Air Base website. Bus service is available for families with school-aged children living off-base in certain areas. To find locations of bus stops, email: eifel.sbo@dodea.edu.

The School Liaison (SL) is your community facilitator, connecting schools, families, and community services to address education matters impacting military children. The School Liaison promotes communication and collaboration between the schools, military organization, community services, students, and parents. DoDEA Europe operates schools at Spangdahlem Air Base with classes ranging from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade. Limited bus service is available for families with school-aged children living on the economy. Send an email to EIFEL.SBO@DODEA.EDU to verify bus stop locations.
Registration for school begins any time before or upon arrival, simply by going to the Follet Aspen Website to access registration forms. If you are new to DoDEA schools, you’ll need select “Request an account.” Upon arrival, please complete the registration process in-person by dropping off needed paperwork and sealed student records.

How to Get Involved
If civilians are interested in volunteering, please contact the School Liaison or the specific school you are interested in volunteering with. Employment opportunities for the schools can be found at USAjobs to include: Educational Aid and Substitute teachers. Search: “Spangdahlem” for listings in the schools.
The School Advisory Committees (SAC) make recommendations and advise the principals on school policy, instructional programs, resource allocation, and student services. The SAC is an important venue for parent input regarding school matters.

School Meal Program/Free & Reduced Meal Program
AAFES is responsible for managing the School Meal Program and the Free and Reduced Meal Program.
To register for the meal program, register online with your student’s 10-digit DoDEA student number. Free and Reduced Meal Program eligibility is based on total household size and income.
