College/Technical Training Overview

If you’ve ever considered taking your education a step further, you should look to your installation for more information and assistance. They can help you decide if receiving an advanced degree is right for you, tell you which local colleges and classes are offered and find out if you’re eligible for tuition assistance. The Voluntary Education Center, or Installation Education Center, is available to help you put together a plan to advance your education.

Military spouses can also choose to engage with an education and career coach through the DoD’s Spouse Education and Career Opportunities program, or SECO.  These coaches can assist them in exploring multiple tools, resources and information to reach their educational goals.  To contact a career coach call 800-342-9647 or visit https://myseco.militaryonesource.mil.

The Spangdahlem Air Base Education Center enhances mission accomplishment by offering advisement and counseling on CCAF, voluntary education programs and military tuition assistance. Additionally, the education center offers testing services for PME, CDC, DLPT and other educational testing and serves as the base source for formal training, TDY-to-School requirements, on-the-job training and ancillary training.

The Spangdahlem Air Base Education Center has three on-site universities that offer more than 40 different undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate degree programs. Courses are offered virtually, days, evenings, and weekends. For spouses, check out MyCAA on MilitaryOneSource for information on potentially free funding for your educational pursuits! 

The three on-site universities are University of Maryland Global Campus, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and University of Oklahoma. University representatives are located inside the Education Center, building 129.
