Deployment can be a challenging phase of the military lifecycle, but it’s important to know that you don’t have to go through it alone. The military provides a variety of resources and support programs — ranging from educational briefings to morale calls — for your loved ones, children and service members to ease the stress of deployment. Military members may be assigned to a specific installation but support may come from local communities, Yellow Ribbon events or the installation itself.
Tyndall Air Force Base Family Readiness Program provides assistance to spouses and family members while the military member is deployed, assigned temporary duty for more than 30 days or serving on a remote tour. Military members are required to out-process through the Family Readiness Section. Pre deployment briefs are held every Thursday at 9 a.m. and Reintegration briefings are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1 p.m. Both briefings are on a walk-in basis and are held in building 662 room 228.Service members will receive counseling designed to ensure they have taken measures to alleviate possible stresses on themselves as well as family members. The counseling reminds military members to update their emergency contact data, plan for the payment of any bills, ensure their medical coverage has been established and/or maintained, consider legal issues and take care of any family matters prior to their departure.
