Services are designed to focus on money management issues throughout your active-duty lifecycle and into retirement. The personal financial management counselor at the Tyndall Military and< Family Readiness Center can assist you in setting up a personalized spend plan tailored to your new living situation and any changes to family income.
Information and assistance is also available in areas such as goal setting, consumer scams/identity theft, saving and investing, insurance, car buying, home buying, credit management and much more.
Financial guidance is offered to those experiencing money management challenges or for those who wish to be financially secure. From debt management to investment planning, a variety of programs and services are available to meet your needs.
Financial management counselors can work with you to prepare a Spend and action plan designed to fit your personalized needs.
Advance Pay
You may be eligible for advance pay during your permanent change of station move if deemed necessary. However, keep in mind that advances are loans and cited from your pay once you've applied. E-4 and above may advance up to one month's base pay without commander's signature, 30> days before or 60 days after your PCS. E-3 and below or more than one month’s base pay must be approved by your commander. You may obtain a budget analysis with the Tyndall M&FRC prior to requesting advance pay through the local CPTS office.
Cost of Living at Tyndall
Tyndall is located in the northwest panhandle of Florida. Best known as the Emerald Coast due to the emerald color of the Gulf of Mexico waters, it is in a high-volume tourist destination which can result in a higher cost of living.
Average rental prices for a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home are around $2,000 but may vary according to the closeness of the base. Average home prices are around $297,000 to $349,900 for a three-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1, 500-square-foot home. Monthly utility bills are high as this is a high- temperature and very high-humidity area averaging $160 to $250 per month for a typical home.
