A wide range of programs are available for youth and teens, including youth sports and recreation programs, educational programs and programs that support leadership and career development. Please review the information to learn what programs and services are available at this installation.
Tyndall's Youth Center is affiliated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the National 4-H organization. The Center offers a wide variety of social, recreational, educational, cultural, and family activities for family members, ages 6-18 (5-year-olds accepted after enrollment into Kindergarten). After school care is offered to military, civilian employee, and contractor families. For more information, please call 850-283-2220.
Youth Sponsorship Program
Tyndall's Youth Sponsorship program is offered. This program matches incoming youth with a youth currently living at Tyndall so that the incoming youth has a point of contact for questions and concerns about their new duty station. If you are interested in a youth sponsor, please submit a Youth Sponsorship package or contact Youth Programs at 850-283-2220 or DSN 312-523-2220.
Tyndall's Youth Center is affiliated with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the National 4-H organization.The Center provides a comprehensive, year-round youth activities program and offers a wide variety of social, recreational, educational, cultural, and family activities. Any family member, ages 5-18, of active duty, retired military and DoD civilians are eligible.
The School-Age Program at Tyndall Youth Programs offers Before & After School and full Summer Camp care in a developmentally appropriate and fun environment for youth ages 5-12 years of age. The program is accredited through the Council of Accreditation (COA) and also provides USDA approved meals and snacks as well as transportation from Tyndall Elementary School.

Torch Club (ages 11-13) offers youth the chance to develop leadership qualities through community service projects, education, and career exploration and free enterprise.
Keystone Club (ages 13-18) -- Offers youth an opportunity for character and leadership development. Teaches youth self-discipline and allows them to learn through voluntary public service.
Congressional Award -- Offered for ages 14-18. Participants strive to achieve individual goals in voluntary public service, personal development, physical fitness, and expedition/exploration through non-competitive programs.
Youth Of The Year -- Designed to promote academic performance, formation of life goals, public speaking ability and service to clubs, community and family. Each month, a youth is recognized for their contributions and accomplishments. The yearly recognized youth advances to the command level evaluation.
Instructional Classes: Piano Lessons, Tumbling, Cheerleading, Karate, and Kinderjam classes are offered weekly for a monthly participation fee. Age requirements cary for each program. Please contact Youth Programs at 850-283-2220 for more informaton.
Recreation Amenities
There are four baseball fields, one youth outdoor basketball court and skateboard park. The base has its own beach, swimming pool, outdoor track and tennis courts available for open use. Beach goers, be careful of tides, riptides may be present.
Before and After School
The Before and After School Program is for children K-12 years and is accredited through the Council of Accreditation. School age care including Before/After School is available in Family Child Care homes as well.
