Child Care

Camp Darby Child Development & School Age Center is located in a combined facility, Bldg 726, and offers care for children 6 weeks to 5th grade. CDC programs include full day, part day, and hourly care. SAC (kindergarten-5th grade) offers before and after school care, camp options during school breaks and hourly care. Camp Darby's Youth Center offers open recreation for youth in grades 6-12th grade.  For more information on enrollment in CYS programs, contact Parent Central Services at DSN 314-645-8241 or 011-39-050-965-8241.

The CDC & SAC programs are accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and SAC is a member of 4-H, and the Boys and Girls Club of America.

The CDCs curriculum focuses on rich and stimulating age-appropriate environments helping children develop cognitive, motor, social, and emotional skills. Learning activities provided through individual, small and large group experiences support the natural development of children. A research-based curriculum ensures children develop school readiness skills.

Through partnerships with national youth serving organizations such as 4-H and Boys and Girls Clubs of America, SAC programs help children develop their strengths and interests and a positive self-esteem, as well as making new friends and growing as individuals. Programs are offered in the core areas of leisure, recreation and the arts; sports and fitness; citizenship and leadership; and mentoring and support services. The SAC program works with local schools to ensure that classrooms subjects are reinforced in monitored before and after school environment in SAC technology and homework centers. Hourly SAC is available for parents requiring intermittent child care for special events or appointments.

Registration takes place at Parent Central Services. PCS is your one-stop location for information and enrollment in all CYS programs and services. All children using any of the CYS programs and services must be registered on an annual basis.

The following information/items are required to register your child:

•     Copy of Sponsor’s Orders
•     Parents’ Italian phone numbers
•     Sponsor’s Official email
•     Child’s immunization record (CDC only if school age children attend DoDDS)
•     Two emergency release contacts other than the parents, who must have direct access to post
•     Sponsor’s (and Spouse’s if working) current LES or pay stub
•     Child’s Health Assessment (provided with-in 30 days of registration)

•     Hourly Care - Reservations are required for hourly care. They can be made up to two weeks in advance at the CDC/SAC. Hourly care fee is $8 per hour. All hourly care fees are to be paid on day of service.

Costs

All monthly child care rates are based on total family income and figured on a sliding scale.

Age categories are broken down as follows:

•     Infant - 6 weeks to 18 months
•     Toddler - 18 months to 2 years
•     Pre-School - 3 to 5 years
•     Kindergarten
•     School Age - grades 1-5

Parents who are looking to put their child(ren) into day care programs (full-time/part-time care, before/after school care or summer camps) must start the waitlist process on MilitaryChildCare.com  This is the DOD’s child care waitlist website. Set up an account and search for the care available for your child’s age and add your child to the waitlist of the programs you are interested in. PCS will contact you as soon as a space is available for the program you’ve chosen.
