Programs and services are available at most installations for children up to age 12. Care may be provided in Child Development Centers, School Age Care Programs, and Family Child Care Homes. Please review the information to find out what programs and services are available at this installation. Camp Darby Child Development & School Age Center is located in a combined facility, Bldg 726, and offers care for children 6 weeks to 5th grade. CDC programs include full day, part day, and hourly care. SAC (kindergarten-5th grade) offers before and after school care, camp options during school breaks and hourly care. Camp Darby's Youth Center offers open recreation for youth in grades 6-12th grade. The CDC & SAC programs are accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children, and SAC is a member of 4-H, and the Boys and Girls Club of America.

The CDCs curriculum focuses on rich and stimulating age-appropriate environments helping children develop cognitive, motor, social, and emotional skills. Learning activities provided through individual, small and large group experiences support the natural development of children. A research-based curriculum ensures children develop school readiness skills.
Through partnerships with national youth serving organizations such as 4-H and Boys and Girls Clubs of America, SAC programs help children develop their strengths and interests and a positive self-esteem, as well as making new friends and growing as individuals. Programs are offered in the core areas of leisure, recreation and the arts; sports and fitness; citizenship and leadership; and mentoring and support services. The SAC program works with local schools to ensure that classrooms subjects are reinforced in monitored before and after school environment in SAC technology and homework centers. Hourly SAC is available for parents requiring intermittent child care for special events or appointments.
Registration takes place at Parent Central Services. PCS is your one-stop location for information and enrollment in all CYS programs and services. All children using any of the CYS programs and services must be registered on an annual basis.
