Registration with the VTF of all pets within 14 days of arrival is mandatory. There is no registration fee. Registration can be completed via email or in person.

Italian law and post regulations require you to have your dog on a leash or in a fenced yard. Your animal must have access to food and water at all times. Shelter is required. Tying your dog to a tree, fence or water spigot is not adequate control or proper care.
By law, dogs and cats must be vaccinated for rabies. Dogs and cats are required to be microchipped with a 15-digit ISO microchip.
PCSing with a pet back to the US?
There are new CDC requirements regarding vaccination of dogs entering the US with rabies. Puppies under 6 months will not be allowed to enter the US. For more information regarding CDC import requirements please visit the CDC Website. www.cdc.gov/dogtravel.
