If you need emergency assistance, you can expect to get help from your installation, your branch of service resources. There are programs to support you in a variety of situations, including victim assistance, emergencies en route and service-specific relief societies. Below, you’ll find types of assistance, contact information, and detailed procedures and guidance to help you through any tough circumstances that you or your family may face.
Army Emergency Relief (AER) Society and the Navy and Marine Corps Relief Society loans and grants are available at Army Community Service Center, Building 2915, 2nd Floor (Panzer Kaserne). These nonprofits can provide financial assistance for a variety of conditions/situations (i.e., travel, auto repairs, and housing expenses) when the need arises for uniformed service members and military retirees receiving pensions. Air Force and Space Force personnel should contact the Air Force Aid (https://portal.afas.org/) using the self-service portal.
After duty hours, on weekends and holidays, please contact 1-877-272-7337 or go to https://www.redcross.org/get-help/military-families/financial-assistance.html for immediate assistance. The American Red Cross maintains emergency message services and coordinates financial assistance through these relief societies.
