The goal of the Relocation Readiness Program here at U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart is to ensure that support and assistance is available for inbound and outbound service members and civilians, as well as their family members. The Relocation Readiness program assists service members, civilians and family members cope with the problems and stressors they may encounter throughout the tour cycle of their mobile lifestyle. Installation Specific Information
The Army Community Service RRP provides training and local information to unit official and spouse sponsors. Sponsors work to customize digital welcome materials to best serve incoming families.
The following are services offered by the ACS in Stuttgart:
Host Nation Orientation Class – Every other week a HNO class is offered half day from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Valued information is given out about Stuttgart area, Germany and German culture.
Host Nation Orientation tour to Stuttgart - Learn how to purchase tickets for public transportation and navigate the train and bus systems as a group on the way to downtown Stuttgart. After arriving in the city, enjoy a walking tour led by a Host Nation expert of the main city attractions before sitting down for a traditional German meal. Each tour starts from a different installation (Panzer Kaserne, Patch Barracks and Kelley Barracks). Call ACS to register.
Host Nation Supermarket Tour - Learn to navigate a local grocery store and EU food labels with a Host Nation expert and a DHA Health Educator. Monthly from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Call ACS to register.
German Immersion Class – ACS offers this free class for beginners on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. Please call ACS for class location.
Lending Closet – This program is available for incoming and outgoing permanent personnel. Essential items available to check out for up to 60 days include two-, four- or six-person dish kits (includes pots and pans), coffee makers, toasters, irons, ironing boards etc. Note that linens, blankets, towels and transformers are not available.
English as a Second Language – ESL assists foreign-born spouse and adult dependents who want to brush up on their English language skills and learn about American culture. This class is offered on Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. throughout the year at ACS on Panzer Kaserne.
Information and Referral – The Information and Referral Program can assist you with questions you may have regarding community services in Stuttgart. If you need more information about on- or off-post services, they're happy to help. I&R is the point of contact for ACS class registration and information on any ACS classes, as well as your one-stop place for community information.
German Translation Services – Need assistance with German or English translations? ACS can help. We offer free, unofficial translation services (for paying phone and utility bills, information on the local community, scheduling appointments, etc.) Assistance is available Monday-Friday. Customers are asked to schedule an appointment with the translator.
